Organ Cover Story

West Side's pipe organ is the cover story of the May 2011 issue of The American Organist, the monthly publication of the American Guild. A copy of the article is posted on the Newsroom page (click here) and on the Worship and Music kiosk. Don't miss it!

Dedication CD Available

You can still get your own copy of the October 7, 2007, Dedicatory Recital on our new organ with Dr. Catherine Rodland at the console. It's only $15 per CD. Please make your check out to West Side Presbyterian Church, with "Dedication CD" on the memo line. All proceeds in excess of production cost will benefit West Side's mission programs. Contact Lisa Stitt in the church office, lisa@westside.org, or ext. 39, for more information.

The Nichols & Simpson Pipe Organ

In 2007, West Side's new 51-stop, 65-rank, three manual pipe organ, built by Nichols and Simpson of Little Rock, Arkansas, was installed in West Side's sanctuary over a period of 10 months. For two months, it was "voiced," a meticulous process where the sound of each of the pipes is adjusted according to the space and each of the other pipes. The new instrument is the first major pipe organ installed in Bergen County in more than 40 years.
