Children and Youth

Our goal is to help our children become true disciples of Jesus Christ by building relationships with them, being examples for them and teaching them God’s Word.

Sunday School

Orange, our vibrant Sunday School strategy for preschool through 7th grade, combines the light of the church (yellow) with the heart of the family (red) to form a lifelong faith in Christ (orange). Each month has a theme—kindness, love—that is carried through with easy lessons to do at home. There’s even an app (Parent Cue) that you can use on the go! The result? Home + Church = Greater Impact. In-person Sunday School takes place at 9:00 am, online at 10:30 am.

Family Pray and Play

On Sundays from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, resuming in the spring, toddlers through Pre-K kids can enjoy supervised playground time while children in kindergarten through 5th grade can ride their bikes or scooters together in the parking lot. (Weather permitting.) And YOU can bring a chair and spend an hour connecting with other parents. Every week, Family Play and Pray opens in prayer.

Kids Club + Music

Crafts, games, Bible stories, music - it all adds up to 90 minutes of faith-based fun for K-8th kids every Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.

Confirmation Class

Once a week from October through May, eighth graders meet with Pastor Penny for our FOCUS (Finding Ourselves in Christ through Unity and Service) Confirmation Class. Together, the teens explore their personal faith, delve deeper into what it means to be a Christian, participate in meaningful service projects, and prepare to publicly profess their faith and become "official" members of West Side. Along the way, bonds are formed and lasting friendships are built.

High School Youth Group

Every Sunday at 7:30 pm, high schoolers get together for a low-key hour of fun and faith formation with Pastor Penny. It’s a great opportunity for youth to escape the stress of school, be themselves and meet new people.
