City Relief

City Relief, formerly New York City Relief, needs volunteers to serve the homeless in Paterson. Participants depart from Cornerstone Church in Wyckoff at 8:00 am and return at 1:30 pm. Transportation is provided from Wyckoff to Paterson. Click here to sign up and find out about the precautions that New York City Relief is taking to keep volunteers, staff and guests healthy. 

New York City Relief also is in urgent need of travel-size items for hygiene kits: toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, combs and deodorant. Other items needed include toothbrushes, soap, washcloths, disposable razors and sanitary napkins. Donations should be sent to New York City Relief, 495 Walnut Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07201.

Eva's Village

Eva's is in need of volunteers to package “pick-up-and-go” meals for the Paterson community on Fridays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. All volunteers will be masked, gloved and socially distanced in Eva’s large dining hall. Email Mark Babunovic for more information and to sign up.

Eva's also needs a number of items to continue to serve clients: Huggies Little Snugglers diapers, size 2; baby wipes, unscented, flip-top packs; Secret and/or Lady Speed Stick deodorant; Dove Men + Care and/or Speed Stick deodorant; Dove soap, individual bars; Ivory soap, individual bars; toothpaste.

Family Promise of Bergen County

Family Promise welcomes volunteers to help distribute food in Hackensack (3:30 to 6:00 pm, seven days a week). Email Paul Shackford for more information and to sign up. 

First Presbyterian Church of Passaic

First Pres continues to serve our neighbors in need during the pandemic. When you're at the supermarket, please pick up some extra canned, jarred or boxed nonperishable items - tuna fish, peanut butter, vegetables, pasta, cereal, etc. Donations may be dropped off at West Side in the continuing education vestibule from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. 

Oasis: A Haven for Women and Children

Oasis in Paterson is seeking donations of nonperishable food, personal hygiene items and school supplies for women and children living in poverty. Click here for a list of items and drop-off locations. 

Social Service Association of Ridgewood

SSA is having a tough time keeping up with overwhelming demand for food and personal care items for their clients. Click here to make a donation through Amazon. 

West Bergen Mental Healthcare

West Bergen is seeking volunteers to provide ready-to-eat meals for the residents of its 11 group homes. Email Barbara Hand if you can help.
