Do you love to sing? Do your kids love to sing? Join a choir!
Whether you're five or 85, there's an opportunity for you to explore and share your musical gifts at West Side. No prior experience is required, and rehearsals are flexible. (There's a Zoom option for adults!) Please contact Music Minster Dr. Steven Seigart to inquire about any of our ensembles or to get involved.
Adult Choirs
The Chancel Choir, for ages 18 and up, rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30 - 9:00 pm and sings during 10:30 am worship.
Oratorio Choir meets on Thursdays from 8:00 - 9:30 pm as we approach our seasonal Oratorio presentations. An augmented version of the Chancel Choir, this is a perfect way to try choir without a long-term commitment. This year, we will present Handel's Messiah on December 9, 2024, at 3:00 pm (beginning rehearsals on Thursday, November 14) and Mozart's Requiem on March 30 (beginning rehearsals on Thursday, Mar 6).
Young Adult Choir (High School and College-aged singers) rehearses each Thursday from 6:00 - 7:00 pm (pizza is served at 6!) and sings for Intergenerational Sundays (once a month) as well as on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Christmas Eve. Rehearsals begin September 26, 2024.
The Westminster Bell Choir, for ages 18 and up, rehearses on Tuesdays from 7:15 to 8:30 pm and plays on Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve, and other special occasions throughout the year.
Bless, O Lord, Your servants who minister in your temple. Grant that what we sing with our lips we may believe in our hearts, and what we believe in our hearts we may show forth in our lives; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."

Children's Choirs
Children's Choir (Grades 4-8) meets on Thursdays at 5:00 pm and sings for Intergenerational Sundays (once a month) at 10:30 am, as well as on Easter Sunday and Christmas Eve. All Children's Choir singers are invited to Kids Club, beginning at 4:00 pm on Thursdays, followed by Choir rehearsal at 5:00 pm. Parents and children alike are invited for pizza at 6:00 pm! Register here!
During rehearsals, children learn how to read music and play handbells, chimes, and Orff instruments. They also learn teamwork and problem-solving skills, boost their vocabulary and language skills, gain confidence, expand their social circle, grow in their faith, and have fun!
"Singing in a choir engages all parts of a child's body, mind, and spirit, connecting the words and music in a way that stays with them for life," says Dr. Steven Seigart, Minister of Music at West Side. "We are so lucky to have a legacy of strong Children and Youth Music at West Side, where our core philosophy remains that wherever you are in your musical or faith journey, there is a place—and choir—for you!"
