At West Side, the desire to live contemplatively is a core value. We seek to be fully present to life as it is, purposeful in our approach to living and grateful for our blessings.
Contemplative Practices
Come rest in the presence of God.
Contemplative Practices meets Sundays at 10:00 am in the West Side Room and includes a time of Centering Prayer—an ancient form of Christian meditation rooted in silence and stillness. It’s simple to learn, powerful in effect, and open to everyone.
We gather to slow down, listen deeply, and strengthen our inner awareness of God’s presence—something we believe is not rare or reserved for a few, but a natural part of being human.
All are welcome, whether you’re new to contemplative prayer or returning to it. No need to sign up—just show up. Reach out to Pastor Liz for more details
Group Spiritual Direction
Make space for God's presence in real life.
We all long to live with more purpose, presence, and clarity. Group spiritual direction is a small, sacred space to practice exactly that.
With the guidance of an experienced leader, participants gather monthly (September through June) to listen deeply to one another and to the quiet movement of God’s Spirit. This is not a support group or therapy session—it's a practice of mutual spiritual attentiveness that helps you grow in wisdom, compassion, and trust in your own journey.
Meetings are offered both online and in person. Because the process depends on trust and presence, regular attendance is expected and an orientation is required before joining. Orientation is Monday, September 15 @ 7pm on Zoom sign up HERE
Circles of Trust (Lectio Divina)
We live in a world of noise—but what if Scripture could become a space of stillness, clarity, and connection?
Lectio Divina is an ancient way of engaging the Bible that invites you to listen with the ear of your heart. In our Circles of Trust, we gather once a month (September through June) to reflect on a short passage of Scripture, listen for what resonates, and share what we’re noticing in a space of gentle, contemplative conversation.
This isn’t a Bible study in the traditional sense. It’s a practice of presence—one that can enrich your spiritual life and awaken new insight for your everyday path.
Groups meet online and in person. Regular attendance is expected, and an orientation is required before joining. Orientation is Wednesday, September 17 at 7pm on Zoom. Sign up HERE
