Paul's Letter to the Colossians includes some of the most soaring, beautiful, and mystical language about Christology (how we think about, understand, and know Jesus) in the entire Bible. It's also a tremendous statement of Christian freedom, a source of practical wisdom for living, and a challenging -- but perhaps ultimately subversive -- reflection of the First Century Roman patriarchal household.
