Just back from Israel and the West Bank, Dave Opderbeck invites us into an honest, thoughtful reflection on what he saw and heard on the ground. His journey included time with Israeli leaders and scholars, encounters with Palestinian Christians, and visits to the places where Jesus lived, taught, and challenged the powers of his own day.
Dave will share the different narratives he encountered from both Israeli and Palestinian perspectives, name the tensions and truths within them, and reflect on how the life of Jesus speaks into conflict then and now. The guiding phrase that emerged for him comes from an Anglican Palestinian priest: “We serve the Prince of Peace.
This will be a presentation followed by time for questions. Come listen, learn, and reflect together, without pressure to take sides or solve what cannot be easily solved.
