Join us on June 1 at 3 p.m. for the final program of the West Side Concert Series 2024-25 Season, featuring Metropolitan Opera Orchestra Violinist Julia Choi alongside pianist Mika Sasaki. Their program, entitled Johannes & Clara, consist of all three Sonatas for Violin & Piano by Johannes Brahms and Clara Schumann’s Romances. Praised by the New York Times for her “narrative sweep and involving performance,” Julia Choi is recognized for her versatility and artistry. Her musical endeavors span solo, chamber, and orchestral appearances throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. She was appointed to the First Violin section of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in 2019. Her partner for this wonderfully romantic program, the illustrious pianist Mika Sasaki, has been praised as a "superb interpreter" and for her "virtuosity and sparkling sound."
